GDPR is coming to Homeseekerplus

What is GDPR?

General Data protection regulation (GDPR) will replace the Data Protection Act 1998 on the 25th May 2018. GDPR seeks to give people more control over how organisations use their data, and introduced hefty penalties for organisations that fail to comply with the rules. As such Homeseekerplus, local authorities and housing associations will be making some changing.

'Controllers' and 'processors' of data need to abide by the GDPR. Under homeseekerplus, controllers of your data will be the local authority for which you applied for housing with, the processor will be our IT supplier, Locata.

What will change?

You will soon find links available to the privacy pages of local authorities within homeseekerplus, the agreed retention period and information about where and how your data is stored to bring us in line with GDPR.

Your privacy is the utmost importance to us so please contact your local council if you would like to know more information.
